Love Poem: When I Opened The Door

I did not know it would be you when I opened the door.
It was strange, how you touched me with only your eyes.
It's no big surprise that I admire you,
Tall, dark, and handsome - I would merge with you.
I've certainly fantasized about it since your gaze
Has made me amazed at the thought of us merging together.
It's not always so easy in the real world, though
When we put on a show to pretend our feelings aren't there
(This is an existential death, I say)
Trust me, I would rather play with you.
I would like to keep a secret like this with you,
We could make every dream we've ever wanted come true.
The more loved ones I merge with, the more perfect I am
And you are my next true love.
We can be perfect for a time, creating light on a dime
And spend some nice memories together.
We could travel the world, we could stay right here
With no fear, we could handle all weather.
When I opened the door, I saw it was you
I was breathless, yet there was no way I could say
Just how much I wanted you to ravish me
In the way I would love to ravish you.

PHOENIX

It's always been this way.
That's the zen of it.
Through the forest, up the mountains, beside the river
There is life everywhere.
Every ocean, every land mass, every planet knows
The big secret that everybody thinks but won't tell
You know - the one that tells you how life works.
Anyways, that secret is encoded in our DNA
That's the magic of it.
The secret we all know, whispers to each of us differently
And that's where we screw things up.
The moment we assume another's secrets
Is the moment we assume we aren't ourselves.
Life is a paradox - it begins & ends with death,
And everything we know exists in a bubble.
There is a time for all to rise anew from the ashes.
Maybe it's your time to die, or your time to live
Because every moment you have a 50/50 chance
Between the two extremes embodied in the question,
"To be, or not to be?"
Obviously I'm choosing to be.
Stars sparkle,
And so I live.
